Welcome to Finoren. A medium-sized realm in the midwest(?) of Chanmyr. (Okay, I really need to insert this into a world map. got it:). The realm has elven so’harats, which are a bit like EU member states. Each so’harat is its own realm and each so’har rules under the sacred edict of the shell that they possess. The shells are massive sacred objects that were gifted by the gods in an earlier age- in the old land. They are called yfa chirrik, with the master shell, the yfa chirra, that binds them together, possessed by the da’har. They are maintained by the asha kajar- a secret sect of priest-like members whose sole loyalty is in serving and maintaining the shells.

In many places, the shells are failing, and have never worked the way they were initially intended, because they were removed from their original locations without an understanding of how they work.

But back to Finoren– there are eleven sovereign realms under the Da’har Ziyn’merival of House Finoren. There is a major trade route that passes through the realm, bringing significant wealth to the region. Finoren has a wide range of mineral resources as well as vineyards and the very unique marsu herds which are renowned for their silky fibers. In the Legacy of the Lost Mage, the inner tensions and long-standing oppositions are coming to a breaking point, particularly around the use of magic– which has been forbidden for over five hundred years. At least publicly. Over the last century, a slow reemergence has begun and has now snowballed into the creation of a center for mages to gather and advance their craft.
